WPDB at Family Health and Wellness Resource Fair

WPDB at Family Health and Wellness Resource Fair Mar. 21

Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank will be part of the Chartiers Early Childhood Center’s Family Health and Wellness Resource Fair, presented by Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools Early Childhood Education Program.  The fair is on Wednesday, March 21, from 8:15– 10:15 am at Chartiers Early Childhood Center, 3799 Chartiers Ave., Sheraden.

The fair will offer families the opportunity to connect with organizations that support and promote the health and well-being of children in early childhood.  Information about resources that can benefit local children, students, families and staff will be available.

A healthy early childhood environment is vital to preparing children for development and success, said the sponsors.   “Access to clean diapers is a vital part of health and hygiene as well as developmental support,” adds Cathy Battle, WPDB executive director.  “We are always looking for ways to engage with families in need.” Diapers are distributed through social service agencies throughout the city and a list of those agencies will be available at the fair.

Children’s Hospital partners with Chartiers and other early childhood centers on the Healthy Way to Grow Program, an initiative that supports centers to create, implement, and sustain healthy environments where children can flourish.
